The Rum Runner, a fruity mixture of rums, liqueurs and juices, can be traced back to 1950s Florida, created by ‘Tiki John’ from the Holiday Isle Tiki Bar. Apparently, during one shift, the bar had an excess of rum and other liqueurs, and as a new delivery was on its way, he had to find a way to get rid of the overstock. To this end he created this sweet and light cocktail to sell to tourists.
